There are various roads to recovery from opioid use disorder. clients should be presented with the option to utilize medication-assisted treatment (MAT) as they are undergoing therapy. Per the Surgeon General, MAT is the gold standard in treating opioid use disorder.
Opioid use disorder is a problematic pattern of opioid use leading to clinically significant impairment or distress. There is desire or unsuccessful efforts to control opioid use. A significant portion of time is spent in activities necessary to obtain the opioid, use the opioid, or recover from its effects.
